Vacation while helping others in local community service. The resort is located in a setting of great natural beauty and serenity, Mar de Jade has as its backdrop a lush tropical mountain forest alive with birds, iguanas, tropical vegetation and has nearby groves of coconut, mango and banana trees. Directly in front of Mar de Jade is Chacala’s half-mile stretch of pristine sandy beach and warm ocean water that deepens gradually.
Mar de Jade is on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. The latitude is on the Tropic of Cancer exactly on the same line as Hawaii.
Mar de Jade’s pristine beach called Chacala, in the state of Nayarit, Mexico is approximately 1.5 hours north of Puerto Vallarta.
We will be assisting in community-wide projects which may range from helping out at the Clinic, assisting with the children’s after school program, helping prepare nutritious meals for mom’s and their children or in any other areas as needed.
The Mar de Jade volunteer experience will be different for every individual, but we strive for a balance between learning, serving and R & R in a rustic tropical environment...
Tour Days: 14 Nights / 15 Days
Departure: May 12th - May 25th, 2007
TOUR ITINERARY:
Day 1 - Sat
Puerto Vallarta
Arrival and transfer to Mar de Jade. Free time to settle in and relax (D)
Day 2 – Sun
On your own to explore or just relax (B,L,D)
Day 3 – Mon
After breakfast. First day of Volunteer work. We will be informed which projects we will be assisting at this time. (B,L,D)
Day 4 – Tue
We will hike over an extinct volcano to a pristine beach with cave formations, picnic lunch and take a boat back later in day (B,L,D)
Day 5 – Wed
Second day of Volunteer work. (B,L,D)
Day 6 – Thur
A day of leisure to do as you wish. Maybe take a Spanish lesson (additional cost); book your 60 minute relaxation massage (no additional charge); go kayaking; optional horseback riding for an additional cost (B,L,D)
Day 7 – Fri
Another exciting work day! (B,L,D)
Day 8 – Sat & Day 9 – Sun
Free days to do as you wish… (B,L,D)
Day 10 – Mon
Doing more wonderful Volunteering ….. (B,L,D)
Day 11 – Tue
Later morning/early afternoon we will visit a pre-Columbian petroglyphic site with a knowledgeable guide (B,L,D)
Day 12 – Wed
Having more fun helping out… (B,L,D)
Day 13 – Thur
A boat will take us to a small island which has exotic coral and fish for a day of snorkelling (B,L,D)
Day 14 – Fri
Last day of Volunteering… (B,L,D)
Final dinner and a time to discuss the time we have spent at Mar de Jade
Day 15 – Sat
Transfer to Puerto Vallarta Airport for return flight (B)

TOUR CANCELLATION POLICY: You may cancel your booking at any time prior to commencement of the tour by notifying us in writing, which must be signed by the person travelling on the tour. If you cancel on or before 2 months before the first day of the tour date you will be entitled to a full refund less 15% of the total cost. If you cancel less than 2 months before the first day of the tour date, there will be a cancellation penalty of 30% of your total cost. The amount of 25% can be applied toward another reservation within 12 months of the cancellation date, the remaining 5% will be charged as an administration fee.
LATE ARRIVALS / EARLY DEPARTURES: SORRY! No refunds or pro-rating for arriving later or leaving earlier than the reserved dates.
MISSED MEALS: Absolutely, NO refunds will be given for missed meals.
